Thornhill/Upper Derwent Valley Trail
Difficulty: Easy/Medium
Length: 2-26 Miles
Traffic free loop ranging from only a couple of miles up to a longer ride your choice. Starting on the Thornhill trail, heading up to and round Ladybower/Derwent and Howden Reservoir. With miles of smooth traffic free explore at your own pace.
The Thornhill trail once carried materials to construct the Derwent and Howden. It is now a traffic-free trail and the perfect way to get from our shop up to the Ladybower Reservoir. It is a wide smooth trail and means you can enjoy the view and chat as you head out.
Once you get to the Ladybower you pass the dam wall and continue to head north towards Fairholmes visitor centre and the Upper Derwent Valley. The route has no significant climbs but undulates around the edge of the water.
