BEST DAY OUT IN YEARS - SO MUCH FUN
ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT DAY! we had so much fun, bikes were brilliant, James could not have been more helpful. He gave great advice on how to use the bikes, where to go to suit our ability and the weather conditions. One of the best days I have had in years.
We are two mid forties women and I am a relative novice on a mountain bike and these bikes were just so so much fun.
I cannot recommend Bike Garage highly enough and will definitely return!
Thank you James
James (owner) made our experience absolutely fantastic. Really good quality bikes, personalised routes based on the type of riding we wanted each day and just exceptional service all round. I’d highly recommend this to anyone!
Great Day Riding
One of the best hire bike experiences you will ever have. Gave me GPS to navigate trails. Bike was immaculate and brilliant. Do yourself a favour take out the trek rail 9 ebike it’s incredible.
Brilliant service and a great day out!
Hired e-bikes for the day and chose the Stanage Edge / Lady Cannings route – given lots of detailed route advice and places to stop on the way. The route itself is superb – incredible views over places we hadn’t explored before. The bikes really made the day – didn’t have to struggle on the hill climbs on a hot day! The MTB trails at Lady Cannings is worth getting to with time to spare, as you could easily spend an hour zooming around here – really was the highlight of the route. This is a great way to explore more of the Peaks, well worth the money!
Amazing bikes, helpful owner
“The mountain e-bikes we hired were just something else. Seats were adjustable on the move, the whole frame suspension was so smooth and the battery lasted for miles. There was no risk of running out of juice despite a whole day’s cycling.”
Lots of fun!
“This was my first experience of an eBike and it has totally changed my opinion.
The Trek bikes are so much fun and the hiring experience was easy.
The bike was all set up to the right weight and height and good to go.
We got the bikes back by 5pm and had an easy drive home without having to clean or disassemble them.”
Very good quality bikes and great customer service!
“My friend and I rented two mountain bikes for a day trip in the Peak District. Got very good, lightweight bikes with massive tires with some extras (helmets, puncture set, pump and a map with the best cycling routes). We have decided to go up the reservoirs and it was amazing!”
Bike Hire For 10
“Great day out with 10 Scouts and bikes were excellent. The staff were extremely helpful and helped plan a route that included a hill named “The Beast” Great time but ache now.”
If there’s a better way of seeing the Peaks, with family, or alone, I don’t know of it
“Three immaculate ebikes, hired from James for a total of six days – and what a place to ride these hugely capable machines. The Trek Rail 9 took every big chunk of gritstone in its stride, with massive travel and buttery handling, the Rail 5 a superb blend of long travel and nimbleness, the Powerfly ace fun. Not only for regular bikers, but an (almost) octogenarian also easily managed 30 miles: a family pleaser. I can think of no better way to see Stanage Edge, Bamford Edge, Howden Moors, the three reservoirs and so much more, than like this. Highly recommended..”
This ride is a perfect sample of the Peak District and the variety of trails it offers, from the old railway lines of the Thornhill Trail to the rocky technical descents of The Beast.
A good medium distance route with two significant climbs and descents looping around the beautiful scenery of the Ladybower and Derwent reservoirs.
A reliable 19.5 mile route climbing just over 2000 feet of elevation, taking in the views of stanage edge the enjoyment of Lady Cannings with some lovely ice cream from Thorpe farm.
This is a slightly more challenging ride that offers four brilliant descents ranging from wide grass routes to tight, exciting singletrack.
